Restored 1974 GMC Classic RV
26' Sequoia Motorcoach “Yellowbird”

$7,950 or BETTER offer

The Best Handling RV Ever Made,” the front-wheel-drive GMC RV is an timeless engineering marvel even by contemporary standards.
With its powerful 455” V8, Aircraft-inspired Ladder and Skin Construction Body built by Boeing, and air suspension, few other RVs on the road are comparable. Even fewer were engineered from the ground up to be an RV like the GMC!

We invested about $40,000 in restoration of this Classic GMC Motorcoach. It runs well, handles and shifts smoothly, interior plumbing & electrical systems work properly, it's clean and comfortable inside, and we've had it in our family for ~11 years. Our family needs have changed and now it's time to sell. This coach would be an excellent investment for the buyer who wants an already-functional GMC that has had many major repairs already done. With a relatively small investment compared to a new RV, this coach could be brought to top condition. GMC Coaches have a cult following for many good reasons.

Maintenance Wish List

We are aware of the following maintenance items which have not been addressed yet. We make no warranty as to the completeness of this list, but prefer to inform you about issues we do know about up front. Your costs for repairs will depend on where and how you have work done. Some of these items have been completely or partially addressed in past maintenance but may require further attention to achive full-restoration.
  • Mount New Front Tires
  • Install New Deep Cycle Cabin Batteries
  • Replace Intake Manifold & Valve Cover Gaskets
  • Do a Major Tuneup on the Onan Generator
  • Perform Minor Carpentry repairs.
  • Address some interior formica / paint / paneling surfaces which could be repaired or replaced. They were distorted by leaks that have been repaired.
  • Dry-clean draperies and do some minor sewing for hooks, etc. Drapery tracks need a couple of pop rivets.
  • Maintain and/or update "wear component parts" associated to Steering/Front/Rear Suspensions
  • Check Brake System which has leaked some fluid, requiring top-off of Master Cylinder.
  • Examine and repair Muffler/Exhaust Pipes as needed- they are "puffing" some.
  • Restore Fiberglass and do moulding Repairs to rear tail-light area
  • Be aware Dash Air shows sticker for R134 upgrade but the compressor is frozen and belt is not attached. Our experts said "simply run the generator and use Rooftop AC, since even when working, dash AC on a GMC is not very powerful."
  • Rear Bumper has a crease
  • The rear roof AC Unit doesn't work. We don't use it since our new Carrier 15,500 BTU Rooftop AC amidships is quite effective.
